Joe Byrom currently holds the position of Vice President, Feedstock Facilities for Freepoint Eco-Systems LLC. After college, Joe spent 13+ years in traditional manufacturing facilities in various leadership roles in engineering, supply chain, and overall plant leadership. In 2012, Mr. Byrom ventured into the recycling business as a Plant Manager for Waste Management (WM) at a single stream recycling facility in the Houston area. Six years later, Mr. Byrom was approached by Senior Management about a Project Management role for the buildout of a state-of-the-art recycling facility that would eventually become the flagship facility for Waste Management. Over the next 3 years, Mr. Byrom was heavily involved in the installation, commissioning, and startup of the flagship facility. During the last 2 years of Mr. Byrom’s career at WM, Mr. Byrom worked closely with the engineering team and used his knowledge of design from the flagship project into the next phase of WM’s plan to rebuild, replace and retrofit facilities across the U.S. Mr. Byrom joined Freepoint in March of 2023 and currently manages the Feedstock Facilities for Freepoint’s chemical recycling business. Mr. Byrom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, both from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, TX. He also holds a Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
